ECG An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a test that records the electrical activity of the heart.  It can be used for indicating damage to the heart muscle or defecting any condition in the heart. 

X-RAY and CT

X-RAY and CT X-rays are a type of radiation called electromagnetic waves. X-ray imaging creates pictures of inside of the body. The most familiar use of X-rays is checking for broken bones.  Computed tomography (CT) is a type of imaging that uses special X-ray equipment to make cross-sectional pictures of the body. CT can help to diagnose cancer in every part of the body.

MRI and ULTRASOUND A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a test that uses powerful magnets and radio waves to create pictures of the body.  Ultrasound is a type of imaging that uses high-frequency sound waves to look organs and structures inside the body.  These tests are very useful to diagnose many deseases.

Hi I'm Maria Jose! On this blog I will be posting the activities that we do at my English class related to healt science careers, focused on medicine and nursing. I think that English is very important for students because knowing these language helps us to create new opportunities and also for understanding the world that is constantly changing.  At my English class we learn vocabulary that will help us at university for our career, specially for medicine. We also do many activities with our english for nursing book which I found very interesing.😀
